ALL BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL GAMES CANCELLED FOR TODAY – MAY 4

All baseball and softball games are cancelled for today, May 4th.

CONFERENCE TRACK MEET POSTPONED

Today’s conference track meet has been postponed until tomorrow May 5th. The meet will run at the same time with field events starting at 4:00pm.

VARSITY AND JV SOFTBALL CANCELLED FOR TODAY – MAY 1

The Varsity and JV Softball game at Tolono Unity has been cancelled for today May 1st.

VARSITY AND JV BASEBALL CANCELLED FOR TODAY – APRIL 27

The Varsity and JV Baseball game has been cancelled for today April 27th.  Freshmen are still playing today.  The Varsity game has been rescheduled for tomorrow.

JOURNALISM TEAM PLACES 5TH OVERALL AT IHSA SECTIONAL

On Saturday, April 22, the PTHS Journalism Team placed fifth overall in the IHSA Journalism Sectional that was held in Fell Hall at Illinois State University. In their events, Peter Babb place fifth in Broadcast Journalism, Shelby Jennings placed first in both Editorial Cartooning and Yearbook Theme Development, Tatum Joerndt placed first in Review Writing and third in Yearbook Copy Writing, and Colin Lakadat placed third in both Yearbook Caption Writing and Yearbook Layout: Double-page Spread. Shelby, Tatum, and Colin will be attending the IHSA State Journalism Final at Eastern Illinois University on Friday, April 28.

CUMULATIVE RECORDS FOR THE CLASS OF 2012 PUBLIC NOTICE

Cumulative records for the PTHS class of 2012 will be destroyed on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 3:30.  If you are interested in obtaining your records, please contact the PTHS guidance office (815-844-6113) by Thursday, May 18, 2017.  Transcripts and health records are not included with the shred and will remain on file permanently at PTHS.  Records will only be released to students and/or parents with photo identification.

SATURDAY TUTORING WILL BE HELD THIS SATURDAY, APRIL 22ND

Any student is welcome to come to Saturday Tutoring this Saturday from 12:00pm – 4:00pm in Ms. Hatfield’s room.  Students should enter through the FLC doors.  Also, Saturday Tutoring has been moved from May 20th to May 13th.  It will be held in Ms. Hatfield’s room from 10:30am – 2:30pm.  Please contact Ms. Hatfield if you have any questions at ehatfield@pontiac90.org.

CHORAL DEPARTMENT WILL HOLD SPRING CHORAL CONCERT

The Pontiac Township High School Choral Department will hold its Spring Choral Concert “Songs & Sounds of Our Earth” on Sunday, April 23 at 3:00pm in the PTHS Auditorium. Enjoy selections from the Men’s Chorus, the Women’s Choruses Bel Canto and Cantabile and our Concert Choir. The concert will feature music from the Vocal Jazz ensemble Route 66 as well as the men’s Barbershop Quartet We’ll Take it From Here! Selections will include music focusing on Earth Day, the environment, the power of individual actions and being good stewards of our planet! PTHS HOSTS 2ND ANNUAL LIVINGSTON COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL ART COMPETITION

On Monday, April  3rd Pontiac Township High School hosted the 2nd annual  Livingston County High School Art Competition.  Participating schools were Pontiac Township High School, Flanagan-Cornell, Dwight Township High School, Woodland, Tri-Point, and Prairie Central.   Artwork was judged in 9 categories: Painting, Black & White Drawing, Color Drawing, Printmaking, Ceramics, Sculpture, Photography, Mixed Media, and Pen & Inks.   Judging this year’s artwork were JoanE & Ed Lipinski, Ben Diaz, and Patti Drengwitz.  In addition to the judging of the artwork, one participant from each school competed in a modeling clay design competition.   After that, students listened to Sarah Kasch, she...
