Site Schedule –

  • Arrival, Check-In, Computer Setup, and Orientation – Sunday, July 8th, 2018 – Afternoon
  • Kickoff Dinner – Pontiac Family Kitchen – 904 W. Custer Ave, Pontiac, IL – 5:00 p.m. – Sunday, July 8th.
  • Computer Setup for Network – 7:15 a.m. (ish) – Pontiac High School (July 9th)
  •   Institute Sessions will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9th.
  • The Institute will recess for break on Friday Evening, July 13th and reconvene Monday morning, July 16th (Please note that homework completion may be required over the “break” weekend).
  • The Institute will adjourn on Wednesday, July 18th at noon.

By Car: 

 The City of Pontiac is situated at the intersection of Interstate 55 and IL-116.  There is adequate parking at the hotel and school facilities.  Shuttle service to and from the hotel to the institute may be offered.

By Air:

Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI) is the closest airport to Pontiac.  With advance notice, we will coordinate shuttle service from BMI to Pontiac for the institute.  For more details about Central Illinois Regional Airport, please visit   www.cira.com

Pontiac is also within reasonable distance of Peoria International Airport (PIA), Chicago Midway (MDW), and Chicago O’Hare (ORD) airports.  If you choose either Chicago Airport, Train service to Pontiac is a possibility.

By Train:

Pontiac is serviced by AmTrak.  For information on train schedules, please visit www.amtrak.com  Currently, southbound trains stop daily at 11:06 a.m.. 6:56 p.m., and 8:41 p.m.  Northbound trains stop at 7:59 a.m., 10:14 a.m., 11:39 a.m., 6:23 p.m., and 9:04 p.m.

Participants will (tentatively) be housed at the Quality Inn in Pontiac.

While the hotel has an exercise room on-site, local Physical Therapy and Wellness Center, The Pontiac Rec Center may also be available.

Pontiac is home to many local shops, dining, recreation, and an historic downtown environment.  Additionally, Pontiac is located 35 minutes from the college environment of Bloomington-Normal.  On the “break” weekend, we are planning a day trip to Chicago with a variety of options available for entertainment in the City.
