Parent/Student conferences are encouraged. If a parent has any questions regarding a student’s educational or vocational plans, testing, or personal concerns, please call for an appointment with the appropriate counselor. Students are alphabetically assigned to a counselor when they enter high school and remain with that counselor until graduation.

We have many resources in our department for students and their families who wish to research information related to their future career goals and college exploration. Pontiac Twp High School subscribes to the ACT Discover Career Guidance and Information System. Each student is assigned a user ID and password upon entering high school and has access to the program until graduation. Discover’s assessments of interests, abilities, and job values provide help for good career decisions. The comprehensive, up-to-date databases of occupations, schools and training institutions, majors, and military options provide opportunities for all students.
Pontiac Township High School students have the opportunity to participate in the Livingston Area Career Center during their junior and senior years. The following link will provide information on the Livingston Area Career Center course offerings as well as information on classes that are articulated with area community colleges.
